House Plan License Agreement
License Types & Usage Rights
When you purchase a house plan from 8 Twenty One Home Design, you receive a limited license to use the plan according to the terms below:
Single Build License: Grants you the right to construct the plan one time at one location. Additional builds require purchasing additional licenses.
What You Can Do:
- Build the home one time as designed
- Make minor modifications to meet local building codes
- Share plans with your builder, contractors, and permitting authorities
- Reverse or mirror the floor plan
What You Cannot Do:
- Reproduce, copy, or redistribute the plans
- Build the plan more than once without purchasing additional licenses
- Resell or transfer the plans to another party
- Claim the design as your own work
Copyright & Ownership
All house plans remain the intellectual property of 8 Twenty One Home Design. Purchase of a plan grants a license to build, not ownership of the design itself. All plans are protected by U.S. and international copyright laws.
Modifications & Customization
You may make modifications to accommodate your specific needs or local building requirements. However, we recommend working with a licensed architect or engineer for structural changes. 8 Twenty One Home Design is not responsible for modifications made after purchase.
Important Disclaimers
Professional Review Required: All plans must be reviewed and approved by a licensed professional engineer in your area before construction. Local building codes, site conditions, and regulations vary by location.
Building Codes & Permits: Plans may require modifications to comply with your local building codes, zoning requirements, and site-specific conditions. It is the buyer's responsibility to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
Engineering & Site-Specific Requirements: Additional engineering (foundation, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing) may be required based on your location, soil conditions, and local requirements. These are not included unless specifically stated.
No Warranty: Plans are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. 8 Twenty One Home Design makes no guarantees regarding buildability, cost estimates, or suitability for any specific location or purpose.
Limitation of Liability: 8 Twenty One Home Design shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use these plans, including but not limited to construction costs, delays, or code compliance issues.
